SOMATIC4HEALING
I adopt a holistic approach that considers individuals as multilayered and complex creatures in which the biological, psychological, social, and spiritual sides are taken into account with an emphases on the psychobiological (mind-body) factors in treating trauma, chronic mental illness, and relieving chronic stress. This approach facilitates the completion of self-protective responses and the release of thwarted survival energy bound in the body, thus addressing the root cause of trauma symptoms. This is approached by gently guiding clients to develop increasing tolerance for difficult bodily sensations and suppressed emotions. It resets your nervous system enhances your tolerance and resilience to stress.
Dwell on a future in which you revive your true self, stop trauma from hijacking your life, and regain control. I wholeheartedly believe that you were not supported as you deserve.
As a trauma survivor, I can relate. Treating trauma is a passion of mine! I am here for you. I strive to support you. I am honored to walk beside you throughout your healing path.
We are social beings. Belonging and connecting with others is more than an emotional need; it is a biological need. Sometimes relationships do not go as we had hoped. Typically, seeing things differently and perhaps conflict is unavoidable in relationships. Whether you want to consult for premarital relationship, strengthen your current relationship with your partner or family members, navigate relational crisis such as infidelity, separation, and divorce, I am here for you. I provide couples and family therapy.
Grief is a common experience; most people will experience loss at some point in their lives. Grief can be agonizing, confusing, and complicated process. People process grief differently; there is no one set way to grief. There is no set timeframe for how long grieving lasts. Grief typically comes in waves and can be unpredictable.
I have seen so many types of losses. We do not grieve only when we loose our loved ones. You may have lost being loved and protected by your parents, a loving partner, reaching your potential, etc.
Research has shown over and over the stress-diseases connection. Disease as in chronic medical illnesses such as rheumatoid arthritis and mental illnesses such as anxiety and depression. Your body gauges your stress level and communicates with you. You simply need to learn how to listen and manage. We are going to do that. If you answer yes to any of the following questions, you have arrived!
Were you on survival mode for a long time and not sure how to enjoy your life?
Do you suffer from chronic and perhaps unexplained pain or ongoing medical and/or physical conditions?
Have you experienced developmental trauma such as childhood abuse, neglect, witnessed violence, etc.?
Have you experienced shock trauma such as vehicle accidents, sudden losses, wars, natural disasters
Have you experienced overwhelming medical procedures such as dental and surgical procedures?
Have you experienced or witnessed any form of violence and what may have felt like an inescapable attack?
Change is inevitable. You and I change as well as everything and everyone around us. In order to succeed in pursuing our goals, we need to really know who we are, what our values, talents, traits, temperaments, qualities, strengths, and weaknesses. I am here to support your self-awareness and self-actualization. This includes any area of your life that needs attention. For example, it can be related to your academia, career, religion, spirituality, sexual orientation, gender issues, etc.
As a person who comes from various minority groups (i.e. Muslim, woman of color, and refugee), I have a first hand understanding of marginalization and oppression.
Sadly, violence against minority groups is in the rise in the United States of America. This includes religious minorities , racial and ethnic, LGBTQ community, violence against women, systematic oppression, ableism, ageism, classism, etc.
I am here for you and would be honored to support you navigate prejudice and the significant adversities you may experience.
I promise to be there for you every step of your journey! My goal is to help you grow from your struggles, heal from your pain, and move forward to where you want to be in your life.

Testimonials from former clients:
" Nadia is a phenomenal counselor who has walked along my journey with me for a year. She has travelled with me along various emotions such as grief, loss, anger, sadness, anxiety, and handled these emotions with much care. Nadia has helped me become more self-aware and create positive changes with her use of in-depth questions, theoretical information and therapeutic tools that I can use in life. She has provided a safe space for me to feel, understand, process and then release my emotions rather than suppressing them. Through Nadia's ability to be nonjudgmental, actively listen and sit with the various emotions that arose, I was able to form a greater understanding of my situation so that I could make healthy changes. With Nadia I learned how to set boundaries, to de-escalate feelings such as heavy anxiousness, and to make positive changes to my negative thinking patterns. Nadia allowed for me to grow as she provided an empathic, safe, nonjudgmental environment along with active listening skills, in-depth questions and psychoeducation to promote self-awareness. She has been an important role in helping me heal my trauma and build healthy relationships." A.K.
" I am extremely grateful to Nadia for her gentle, intuitive guidance and for creating a safe and loving container for my healing journey" F.E.
